Our most recent project revolves around our work on the BetoForTexas Campaign. From white-washing history to stripping women of their bodily autonomy and all of the irresponsible gun laws in between, the current Texas government has routinely practiced and perpetuated white supremacy, and we must act now to stop it! That is why the YVTA initiative is working with the BetoForTexas Campaign in order to vote for the removal of Greg Abbott from office and replace him and his administration with people who actually desire positive and equitable change. Our work with the campaign is also helping to recruit local and community leaders to increase the amount of people who are registered to vote and willing to vote. Our research has concluded that there is an extremely large and untapped base of voters in youth between the ages of 18 and 26. By working in the communities and attending local community based events, we have not only registered new voters but also encouraged the continued participation of voters by making voting easier, accessible, and placing it at the forefront of individual engagement in change.
